We build
silence.

MONOLITH is a studio for residences carved into landscape — concrete poured against weather, glass framed against ocean, rooms shaped around the way light falls in late November.

A house is the door
you choose to keep closed.

We design for thresholds — for the moment a stone path turns inward, for the way a wall of weathered concrete refuses the storm and lets one warm line of light escape its seam. This is where our buildings begin.

Rooms that hold
the weight of weather.

9.4m: ceiling, great room
−12°C: designed envelope
0: thermal bridges

Board-formed concrete, blackened steel, basalt floor. Our interiors are built like bunkers and lit like cathedrals — engineered to outlast their owners, detailed for the few minutes each evening when the fjord turns to lead.

Architecture
as gravity.

Twelve commissions in twelve years. Each one a single residence, singular site, and a client willing to wait three years for a wall. We don’t scale. We deepen.

The deepest room
is the quietest.

Every house we’ve built has one room you can’t hear from anywhere else inside it. We start each project there.

A residence begins
with a long letter.

We accept two new commissions per year. If your site is honest, your patience is real, and the building you want already half-exists in your head — write to us.
