Twelve houses.
Twelve years.
We design single residences only. One at a time. Each one a collaboration between a specific site, a specific climate, and a client willing to be patient. We have completed twelve commissions since 2014 and will not accelerate that pace.
How we work
- 01
Site before plan
Every project begins with a winter visit. We map shadow movement, prevailing wind, frost lines, and the specific quality of silence the land holds at dusk. No drawing begins before this is understood.
- 02
Weather as programme
A house in Norway is not a house unless it accounts for the storm. We design the envelope first — how the building refuses weather at its skin while letting one precise quantity of light enter, at one precise moment each day.
- 03
Material as argument
Board-formed concrete, blackened steel, basalt, raw oak. We use four materials per project, maximum. Every surface must earn its place by the way it ages — not how it photographs on day one.
- 04
Detail as consequence
We do not design decorative details. Every junction, reveal, and threshold is the logical outcome of a structural or environmental decision. Ornament is the thing we remove last.

A typical commission runs 28–36 months from first letter to handover. We do not accelerate this. The slowness is the architecture. We accept two new commissions per year, selected entirely on site and letter — not budget.
